She played the dual role of Sabrina Hughes and Frannie Hughes in the show As the World Turns that was her first major role. In 1988 she was a part-time actress on the show, and won an Daytime Emmy Award. In 1990, she made her debut in cinema through Tales from the Darkside: The Movie. Short Cuts was produced by Robert Altman in 1993 and 3 Women was released in 1997. The actress received a number of nominations, and received praise for her first film. Moore's debut lead role was in Safe (1995). In 1997, her career as an actress was at a crossroads when Steven Spielberg cast her to play the lead role in Jurassic Park: The Lost World that became the highest grossing film of 1997. She starred in Magnolia (1999), which was critically acclaimed, which earned her an SAG nomination for her performance. The Hours, a 2002 film she costarred in with Nicole Kidman and Meryl Strreep was nominated for 9 Academy Awards. Moore has also appeared in The Forgotten 2004, Freedomland, Shelter and Shelter 2010. Non-Stop premiered in 2014. Moore has appeared in numerous films and TV shows. In the most recent, she appeared in the role of the main character in You Finish Saving The World (2022). In Hollywood, she has also become a published author for children. The first book she published was Freckleface Strawberry in 2007 and it became an N.Y.T. best-seller resulting in the adaptation into a series and a musical. The author also released her book My Mom's a Foreigner in 2013. Moore has a public life as a well-known writer and actress. She was married in 1984 to John Robin and in 1995 they separated. Bart Freundlich is the father of two children. Moore is an individual who is devoted to her family and career.
